2016 NORRA Mexican 1000 - GPS Files Available For Download - NOW!
-- Two Rally/GPS Training Sessions Scheduled --

(Agua Dulce, Calif.): As teams and crews make final preparations before next Saturday’s start of the 7th annual NORRA Mexican 1000, today NORRA releases the final GPS files on the www.mexican1000.com website. Just click on the link below to visit the website and download the appropriate GPS files. This announcement is in keeping with Mexican 1000 tradition, as teams participating in the trans-Baja rally are not allowed to pre-run per NORRA rules and regulations.

As another NORRA tradition, each entry will also receive during onsite registration, a printed and bound Roadbook for using during the rally by navigators and co-drivers.

Finally, NORRA has two rally support and GPS Training sessions in place. The first is on Friday the 22nd at the San Nicholas Hotel (Salon Rosa) from 3-4PM. There is a repeat class on Saturday the 23rd from 10-11AM in the Riviera Convention Center (Theater). Representatives will also be on-hand to offer technical support and make sure all of NORRA’s Mexican 1000 race teams are ready for a fun-filled 1,300-plus miles adventure to the finish line in San Jose Del Cabo.

ABOUT NORRA

Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, four-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, rally cars, a limited group of modern desert racecars and classes for prerunner trucks and buggies.

Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970s.

The NORRA Mexican 1000 is supported by General Tire, American Racing Wheel, South Point Hotel Casino, Walker Evans Racing, Azunia Tequila, KC HiLites, Bilstein Shock Absorbers and Mastercraft/Impact Safety.
