NORRA Celebrates Another Year With Title Sponsor Yokohama Tires -
The 2022 Yokohama NORRA Mexican 1000 Presented By Method Race Wheels!

Yokohama’s current version of the Super Digger is the GEOLANDAR SD. It shares features of the original design like large center blocks with wide grooves that offer optimal off road performance. The rounded profile creates a long and narrow contact patch for responsive handling and superior flotation in sand and silt. It’s no wonder the tire is very popular with UTV racers. Modern enhancements include optimized sidewall construction that increases durability and stability at high speeds, and shoulder blocks that wrap over the sidewall offering additional side-bite, enhancing off road traction. They also create additional sidewall puncture resistance. Offered in a 33X10.50-15 size, they are a premium UTV and limited buggy racing tire built specifically for desert racing. ABOUT NORRA
Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.
Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970’s.
